Jennifer perfect to sing US national anthem

Singer Faith Hill has praised Jennifer Hudson for choosing the Super Bowl for returning to the spotlight after her family tragedy.

Hudson is set to perform the U.S. National Anthem in front of millions of viewers before the Super Bowl making her comeback after the brutal murders of mother, brother and nephew in October last year.

Hill feels that Hudson has chosen the perfect event to mark her comeback.

“She is a strong girl, a girl of faith, the Daily Express quoted Hill as saying.

Kareena will be honoured by the Rotary Club

Actress Kareena Kapoor will be honoured by the Rotary Club for being the youngest achiever of the film industry. She will be given the Vocational Excellence Award by Bansi Dhurandhar Feb 1 here at the Grand Hyatt, Santacruz.

"Kareena feels great that she is being recognized for the work that she has done in the film industry," said a source.

This is Kareena's second award in this year. She is also going to be awarded the India Today Woman Award 2009 for her contribution to the world of art and cinema by American legal clerk and environmental activist Erin Brockovich.

Rihanna plans to purchase property in the UK

Rihanna is reportedly contemplating purchasing property in the UK so as to set herself a home close to her recording label.

The singer had already sent her team to be on the look out for pads in London's most expensive district - Kensington and Chelsea.

"Rihanna's looking for a UK base close to her record label HQ," a news daily quoted a source as saying.

Meanwhile, the pop star is set to perform live in Kuala Lumpur on February 13 despite opposition from Islamists.

The ‘Umbrella’ hitmaker had previously revealed she was also keen to carve a niche for herself in showbiz.

Vogue editor consider Miller for the cover page

Vogue editor Anna Wintour considered British actress Sienna Miller for the cover page but felt that the actress is too “toothy” and staff were worried she had “too many fillings” and “unruly hair”.

Mirror.co.uk reports that these claims were revealed in a behind-the-scenes documentary. The documentary also shows how Miller was airbrushed for the shoot back in 2007 with reputed photographer Mario Testino. They took one photo of her and super-imposed it on a separate picture of her body.

Miller`s publicist said: “Sienna Miller is the first person to admit that her photos are always retouched - no one is ever that perfect.”

Kylie Minogue's lingerie ad voted top

Pop singer Kylie Minogue's ad for Agent Provocateur lingerie has been voted the best commercial of all time.

Thesun.co.uk reports that in the ad, Minogue is seen writhing on a mechanised rodeo bull in her sexy underwear. This ad is called Proof and it was controversial when it first came out in 2001.

The poll, which was launched by cinema advertising sales house Digital Cinema Media, gave voters a choice of 10 ads chosen by experts. Minogue's ad beat off competition from the likes of the Guinness Surfer advertisement, Diet Coke's Break and Carling Black Label's Dambusters to win the title.

Supermodel Kate Moss is apparently planning to move to the Big Apple to be with her rocker beau Jamie Hince.

Hince is trying hard for his band The Kills to crack America and thinks that the move would help their relationship.

The 35-year-old star already shortlisted few luxury New York apartments, but says she'll keep a base in London.

Jamie thinks it would help the relationship. Plus he fancies the challenge of cracking the US with The Kills, the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

Simon Cowell has offered Kelly Brook a role in his own spin-off show after kicking her off from Britain’’s Got Talent.

The 29-year-old beauty was only hired as a judge last week but was said to be stunned and very angry when she was sensationally fired after just six days in the job.

Cowell personally apologized to the model and presenter over the phone and says that he has created a new role for Brook, on the ITV2 spin-off show Britain’’s Got More Talent, which looks behind the scenes of the main show.

If Brook accepts the new job, she is likely to work alongside ex-children’s TV presenter Stephen Mulhern as a roving reporter, in much the same way as Holly Willoughby acts in X Factor spin-off The Xtra Factor.

Sushmita plans to return in flim with a bang

The former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, who has been in and out of films, now plans to return with a bang with three back to back film releases this year. She admits that the year 2008 has been a bad phase in her life.

The actress was last seen in the character of a widow in Ram Gopal Varma's box office disaster "Aag." This year Sen would be seen in "Do Knot Disturb" which also marks the return of Dhawan-Govinda together, "Dulha Mil Gaya" by Mudassar Aziz and her much awaited Hollywood debut with Naomi Campbell and former boyfriend Randeep Hooda "Karma and Holi".

Model-turned-actress, who plays unconventional roles is also in talks to play the character of slain Pakistani leader Benazir Bhutto in a Pakistani film. "I have been approached to play Benazir and the producers are waiting for permission from all concerned to begin shooting," says Sushmita.

Kate Moss gets special gift on her birthday

Rocker Jamie Hince has splashed out thousands on a string of gifts for his girlfriend Kate Moss' birthday and that includes a special gift - 30,000-pound graffiti.

According to thesun.co.uk, Hince has commissioned two works by Parisian artist Andre aka Monsieur A. The artiste, who owns two Paris nightclubs, is set to fly to the Britain in the next two weeks to work on the piece in Moss' house.

One design will be her name and another will be an abstract portrait of her.

Beyonce to sing for Obama's inauguration festivities

Beyonce Knowles will sing the Etta James classic "At Last" at Obama's Tuesday inauguration festivities in Washington.

The Grammy-winner said she was honored to perform for President Obama and the First Lady.

The 27-year-old singer will sing for the Obamas at the Neighborhood Ball, one of 10 official balls scheduled for inauguration night.

For Beyonce's reasons for picking the song, a blues expert is willing to take a few guesses. "The title can imply, 'At last the United States has elected a black president,' " Greg Johnson, blues curator and associate professor at the University of Mississippi, told MTV News.

The song has its own storied history. James released her debut album entitled "At Last!" in 1960 which became a smash hit. In the recent film "Cadillac Records," Beyonce portrayed the blues talent and sang the song in that movie.

Lara to sizzle in a hot item number

According to sources, “Lara has done this song only for good friend Soham”. ‘Luck’ is an action packed film that introduces Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruti Haasan opposite Imran Khan. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Mithun Chakraborty, Danny Denzongpa, Ravi Kissen and Rati Agnihotri in important roles.
